Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes the importance of respecting deontological norms in forensic expertise, highlighting their role in guaranteeing the objectivity and reliability of evidence used in criminal proceedings. The fundamental principles of the conduct of the forensic expert are presented, such as integrity, impartiality and independence, as well as the need to respect international scientific standards (ISO 17025, ENFSI guidelines). It also emphasizes the expert's obligation to recognize the limits of the methods used and to communicate the margin of error, in order to prevent judicial errors. It highlights the negative impact of the lack of deontology on trust in the act of justice and proposes the extension and uniformity of the norms of conduct to all areas that provide evidence.
