Summary/Abstract: This exploratory case study examines the perceptions of faculty members and students regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in legal education at a law faculty in Romania. It analyzes how generative AI tools are understood, employed, and evaluated in relation to their benefits, risks, and ethical implications. The results reveal a broadly balanced attitude: openness to the pedagogical potential of AI, coupled with justified caution regarding academic integrity, originality, and intellectual responsibility. The study advocates for clear institutional policies and ethical guidelines capable of enabling the integration of AI without undermining the fundamental values of the law and the university’s civic mission.
