Summary/Abstract: This paper starts from the premise that in our world, characterized by fast-paced globalization, technological advances, and recurrent crises, intercultural communication plays an instrumental role in the ways in which change is experienced, negotiated and internalised. Thus, drawing on core concepts in intercultural communication (e.g. communication styles, intercultural competence, or cultural intelligence), our investigations will look into the ways in which cross-cultural skills can be assessed and developed, with a focus on teaching intercultural communication. We believe that training in intercultural communication in English contributes to improving students’ ethnorelativism and, hence, increases their cultural intelligence.
