Summary/Abstract: This article proposes a critical review and an academic reclamation of the biographical and artistic profile of Assia Wevill (née Gutmann), a significant cultural presence in the literary circles of the 1960s, who has been historically reduced to the status of a mere 'footnote' in the tragedy of the Sylvia Plath / Ted Hughes couple. The article aims to revisit Assia Wevill's profile, extracting it from the layers of oblivion and the reductionist label of 'the most famous "other woman"' in literary history. The reassessment of her artistic work carries the weight of a feminist reclamation, considering that her voice and contributions were silenced by a combination of unfortunate circumstances.
