Summary/Abstract: This study aims to assess the psychological symptom levels of education employees (teachers and academics) in Çanakkale province using the SCL-90-R and to examine how these levels differ by sociodemographic and occupational characteristics. Data for this cross-sectional study were collected from 359 participants via an online questionnaire and analysed using the independent samples t test, one-way ANOVA and the Tukey test. The scale's internal consistency was high (total α = .983). The findings showed that symptom levels differed most strongly by gender and perceived income; women scored significantly higher than men on several subscales and on the total score, and those perceiving their income as insufficient scored higher than those perceiving it as sufficient. The results indicate that gender and economic perception are priority variables in protecting the mental well-being of education employees.
