Summary/Abstract: The discourse surrounding "gender propaganda" in Bulgaria has emerged as a contentious topic shaped by political, cultural, and ideological factors. This study critically examines the term's misinterpretation, particularly in the context of public debates, legal frameworks, and media narratives. By exploring historical perspectives, legislative developments, and populist rhetoric, the research reveals how the term has been strategically deployed to advance exclusionary policies and moral panic. Employing qualitative methods, including semi-structured interviews, the study highlights the societal divisions and misinformation fueling resistance to gender equality initiatives. The findings contribute to broader discussions on political homophobia, propaganda, and the manipulation of identity politics in post-socialist contexts.
