Summary/Abstract: The heritage of the "Gavrilă Simion" Eco-Museum Research Institute in Tulcea preserves a collection of 31 titles of Romanian calendars and almanacs (dated between 1836 and 1927), including titles in foreign languages of the cohabiting nationalities, with a total of 176 volumes, some of them in double or triple copies. More precisely, the collection in Tulcea includes 6 almanac titles and 25 calendar titles, of which we mention a few: The Almanac of the School and the Church (1892-1898); The Almanac of Education and Party (1847-1876); The Almanac of the State of the Principality of All Wallachia (1836-1858); The Ancient Calendar (1862-1875); The Calendar of the ”Thorn” (1868-1875); Historical and Literary Calendar (1859-1861) which, in 1861, changes its title to Geographic, Historical and Literary Calendar; Literary and Humourous Calendar (1865-1866); New Calendar (1850); Calendar for Romanian People (1842-1876) which, from 1848, changes its title to Calendar for Romanians; Calendar for All Romanians (1874-1906); Romanian Popular Calendar (1838-1854) which, from 1843, changed its title to Popular Calendar; The Calendar of Prosperity (1858); The Romanian’s Calendar (1859 and 1866); Kopainigg's gemeinnütziger und unterhaltender Bukarester Haus-Kalender (1843-1874). These periodicals are an integral part of our ancient culture, being read in the era by numerous social categories, arousing interest through various content, through their encyclopedic and popular character. As a result, the systematization, processing and rigorous research of this valuable collection was required. The catalogue of old Romanian almanacs and calendars from Tulcea, drawn up on alphabetical and chronological criteria, can be a model for the processing and valorization by bibliologists and specialists of collections of this kind that are still in the heritage of libraries and museums in the country.
