Summary/Abstract: Village Drugovac in vicinity of Smederevo is a symbol of Chetnik terror over partisans in Serbia, as during a single day, April 29, 1944 it had 76 casualties, with heavy material damage inflicted. In the post-war period a particular oral tradition developed over this event, which collides with archival research subsequently conducted by historians. In an attempt to create an ideologically unburdened reconstruction, the article explores documentary sources on the causes and consequences of this event.
