Summary/Abstract: This study aimed to assess the strategic impact of financial accounting on enhancing operational efficiency in Tanzania’s transport sector. It focused on four major areas: cost control and management, financial reporting and transparency, budgeting and forecasting, and revenue management and fraud prevention. The research employed a quantitative approach, and simple regression analysis was used to test the statistical significance of the relationships between the variables. A sample of 100 respondents participated in the study. The results indicate that revenue management and fraud prevention have a significant positive effect on operational efficiency in the transport sector. The findings further underscore the importance of financial accounting in enhancing operational efficiency, demonstrating that effective financial accounting contributes to improved cost management, which, in turn, positively affects operational performance. Based on these findings, policymakers should prioritize fraud prevention measures when formulating policies, as such measures can strengthen decision-making processes and enhance operational efficiency.
