Summary/Abstract: Even though its historical experience cannot be framed exactly into the postcolonial framework, Radu Pavel Gheo’s Noapte bună, copii! demonstrates the effects of a cultural and psychological “colonization” that is typical for the Eastern European post-communist space. In this study, I argue that Radu’s text is situated at the juncture between the postcolonial and postcommunist studies. To that extent, I concentrate on how the idyllic projection of Western spaces colonizes the minds of the novel’s protagonists through the power of the infantile myth.
