Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the impact of advanced generative video models ‒ using Sora 2 as a representative example ‒ on the evolution of contemporary information operations. It discusses the democratization of falsehood, understood as the lowering of barriers to producing synthetic audiovisual content, and the implications of content scalability for the „firehose of falsehood” strategy. The study combines critical literature and report review, content analysis of publicly available functional/technical descriptions of generative tools, and synthetic case studies of selected recent disinformation operations. The analysis suggests that Sora-class systems can increase the speed and volume of credible synthetic video production, complicating timely counter-disinformation responses and contributing to the erosion of trust in audiovisual evidence. The conclusions highlight rising risks for electoral processes, international stability, and the legitimacy of public institutions, and emphasize the need for counter-AI tools, content-authentication standards, and advanced media-literacy competencies.
