Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to reconstruct a post-war history of the 19th century Lutheran cemetery in Wolsztyn (Greater Poland Voivodeship) and offer a close reading of its history and the administrative action taken by the Polish authorities during the post-1945 period, including maintenance of this necropolis, followed by its closure and demolition in 1974. As a result, a chain of events fueled by the political changes in the Polish People's Republic can be traced, resulting in the final destruction of the cemetery, replaced by public greenery adjacent to the housing estate constructed by the state. This article examines archival files that ought to be researched in a wider and comparative studies, offering a deep understanding of the liquidation of non-Catholic cemeteries across Poland in the post-1945 period.
