Summary/Abstract: One of the stages in preparation for the wedding celebrations of Sigismund III Vasa and Anna of Austria in 1592 involved transporting a substantial quantity of textiles from Milan to Cracow, including complete garments custom-made for the king by Italian tailors. This article discusses the items included in, and the execution of, this order, while also highlighting the role played by the royal chief tailor Claudio Aubert and the Cracow-based Montelupi family of financiers in this endeavour. Through the analysis of diverse sources, the Milanese textiles used during the 1592 wedding festivities are identified, and the need for further research on the trade and artistic relations between the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and Northern Italy in the final decade of the 16th century is emphasised.
