Summary/Abstract: Kazimierz Wincenty Trębicki, a diplomat working in the foreign service of the Second Polish Republic, was exiled after the end of World War II and devoted himself to socio-political activity and journalism in the last twenty years of his life. He is the author of over a hundred articles presenting mainly current international affairs, including those concerning the political situation of Poland and the diaspora, and showing the complicated relationships between the nations of Central and Eastern Europe. The analysis of his journalistic achievements allows us to see Trębicki's original political thought, which included a vision of the future of Central and Eastern Europe in the post-war reality. Its assumptions, initially focused on the idea of the Polish Commonwealth of Nations, were later based on the belief in the collapse of the USSR and that Poland would play the main role in shaping a new order based on the principle of the coexistence of states and nations in this part of Europe after the overthrow of Soviet imperialism. One of the leading ideas - unpopular among the Polish diaspora and proclaimed several years before the circles of the Parisian "Kultura" centred around Jerzy Giedroyć - was the acceptance of Polish borders, especially the eastern ones, thanks to which Poland could re-establish its relations with its neighbours.
