Summary/Abstract: The present study explores the liturgical, theological, communal, and hesychastic dimensions of the Koinonikon (Communion Hymn) within the Orthodox Church. Far from being a mere musical interlude during the Divine Liturgy, the Koinonikon functions as a profound liturgical expression of the mystical union between the faithful and Christ in the Holy Eucharist. Rooted in the patristic tradition and informed by contemporary theological insights, the hymn is revealed as both a spiritual itinerary and an ecclesial act. It engages the entire body of the Church in a shared ascetical movement of interiorization, contemplation, and communion. Drawing on the thought of Saints Dionysius the Areopagite, Cyril of Jerusalem, Gregory Palamas, and modern Orthodox theologians such as Metropolitan John Zizioulas, this study demonstrates that the Koinonikon is a sacred bridge between the visible and the invisible, between time and eternity, and between individual prayer and communal identity. In an era marked by liturgical reductionism and aesthetic simplification, recovering the depth and function of this chant emerges as a theological and pastoral imperative.
