Summary/Abstract: This study examines the activities of the Antifascist Front of Slavs in Hungary (AFS) in Nógrád-Hont County during the period leading up to the signing of the population exchange agreement. The research aims to demonstrate how the organization's Slovak section contributed to the political mobilization of the Slovak community in Hungary and the preparation for re-emigration to Czechoslovakia from the autumn of 1945 to early 1946. The paper reviews the antecedents of the AFS's establishment, its organizational structure, and its program, followed by a detailed analysis of the operations of the two districts in Nógrád, with a particular focus on the work of the district secretaries. This investigation contributes to a more nuanced understanding of the regional operations of the AFS and the logistical and political preparation for the population exchange.
