Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to analyse the memorial titled Précis d'un mémoire sur l'Électorat de Saxe (1775). The author, a French diplomat residing in Dresden, examines the international standing and internal situation of the Electorate of Saxony on the eve of the "Saxon Diplomatic Revolution" - the abandonment of Saxony's traditional alliance with Austria in favour of a partnership with Prussia. The diplomat raises the question of the future of the Dresden court, speculating on whether it could become a desirable ally from the French perspective.
