Summary/Abstract: The study comments on the morphological, stylistic and technological interrelationships between the cuff bracelet of the Thessaloniki treasure, the ‘First’ necklace, the diadem plates and one of the rings of the Preslav treasure as well as the gold ring with enamel found in Pliska. The identical decorative and technological techniques suggest production in the same workshop, probably in Constantinople. It is also possible that the production took place in different workshops but used templates standardised for the work of cloisonné enamel. The author does not exclude that the Thessaloniki cuff bracelets were produced in the second most important centre of the empire, that of Thessaloniki, especially when considering the new archaeological discoveries in the city, namely a large workshop with various buildings for the production of glassware. In the second part of the article, examples of epimanikia from early Christian and later mosaics are again cited, in order to trace their ‘path’ from the secular profane sphere to the church milieu and iconography.
