Summary/Abstract: The article explores how art museums are evolving in response to digital saturation and AI, which have reduced attention spans and the ability for “slow looking.” It argues that museums are shifting from passive, object-centered spaces to participatory environments focused on emotional, social, and sensory engagement. Drawing on theory, neuroscience, and New York–based case studies, it shows how dialogue-driven tours, interdisciplinary programming, and community collaboration deepen connections with art. While digital tools expand access, they cannot replicate the cognitive and emotional impact of experiencing original works. Instead, digital resources function best as complements to in-person visits. Through hybrid, interactive models and co-created programming, museums position visitors as active participants. Ultimately, the museum is redefined as a cultural commons that balances technology with authentic human interaction to remain relevant.
