Summary/Abstract: The present paper presents John Barth’s famous novel The Floating Opera as a postmodern writing, structured at two levels: the level of content, with nihilism and skepticism, and the level of form, with a sum of many playful artistic devices. The crisis of moral values is presented by John Barth through the destiny of the main character of the novel.
