Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the new Polish labour law regulation on pay transparency, introduced in June 2025 to implement Directive (EU) 2023/970 of the European Parliament and of the Council. The study focuses on statutory mechanisms aimed at reducing pay inequalities, with particular emphasis on gender disparities, in the context of the European Union’s legal framework and the experiences of selected Member States. The publication highlights the theoretical basis for the new obligations, relating them to the concepts of procedural justice and the reduction of information asymmetry, emphasising their importance for the development of transparent and inclusive remuneration structures. The article also assesses the potential economic and organisational effects of the regulation, pointing to the benefits for labour market efficiency, employee engagement and equality in promotion structures. At the same time, it highlights implementation challenges, including administrative burdens and the role of supervisory institutions, pointing to the need for an integrated legislative and institutional approach in order to effectively implement the principle of material equality in practice.
