Summary/Abstract: The article explores Ignatov's scientific interest in the place of the broad human masses in the structure of socio-historical reality. Ignatov's analyses of the positions of classical Marxism are examined from the perspective of their dispute with representatives of the Russian Narodniks, as well as the positions of leading Bulgarian thinkers – Pasmanik, Mikhalchev, on this issue. Ignatov's own position on the role of the broad human masses in the construction of history is presented.
