Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes the recent mutations of conflict dynamics in Fizi Territory (South Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo) between 2024 and 2026, highlighting the hybridization of local conflicts and their instrumentalization by regional agendas. Based on an informative note produced by the Conflict Sensitivity Hub housed at NGO International Alert when we were doing our internships there and complemented by academic and institutional sources, the study examines the immediate and structural causes of violence, the actors involved (national and foreign armed groups, state forces, local communities), as well as the impacts on humanitarian, development, and peace (HDP) interventions. The article demonstrates that the configuration of conflicts in Fizi has evolved into a hybrid system combining customary rivalries, land disputes, regional influences, and economic logics. It concludes with recommendations to strengthen the relevance of HDP interventions in a context marked by chronic instability and institutional fragility.
