Summary/Abstract: In the last decades, in the field of higher education, there has been an increasing literature that examines the motivations, expectations, and satisfactions of foreign students. In this study the purpose of the questionnaire research was to reveal the motivational factors (choosing of a country and institute) on the basis of which young people who wish to continue their studies outside their home country select Hungary. The results show that when choosing a country, it was of great importance that the country is a safe country. The wide range of training provided by the institute, international accreditation and its reputation were the most decisive motivating factors when choosing an institute.
