The Role of M. Gorky in the Formation of Slavic-Jewish Dialogue

Summary/Abstract: This article is a kind of introduction, an overview of the upcoming research work devoted to the topic «The Jewish Question in the Life and Work of M. Gorky». The writer was one of those literary and cultural figures who took a direct active part in establishing friendly relations and developing socio-political, cultural, economic and social ties between all peoples, defended the right of any nation to exist, freedom, independence and originality. Gorky didn’t recognize and in every way fought against such phenomena as anti-Semitism, chauvinism and nazism. The experience of his struggle and his position are invaluable today, during the period of exacerbation of many interethnic conflicts.
