Summary/Abstract: The pilgrimage to Nicula Monastery represents a complex phenomenon in which religious, social, and identity dimensions intertwine, having undergone significant development in Transylvania since the early 20th century. Around the miracle-working icon of the Mother of God, a major pilgrimage center has formed, carrying a strong spiritual significance that has attracted believers from various regions and contributed to the consolidation of a living tradition.Beyond its religious aspect, the pilgrimage has also functioned as a form of community cohesion and an expression of Romanian identity within the historical context of the region. Broad participation, group organization, and the journey undertaken on foot have transformed this practice into a collective experience with deep meanings.Today, the tradition continues to be passed on and adapted, involving especially young people while preserving the same intensity of spiritual experience. The pilgrimage remains a living expression of faith, as well as a space of communion and cultural continuity, where religious experience intertwines with the memory and identity of the community.
