Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes the process of formation and evolution of the keiretsu financial-industrial groups in the context of the transformation of the post-war Japanese economy. The research highlights the shift from zaibatsu conglomerates to the keiretsu corporate model, influenced by the economic reforms implemented after World War II and the industrial policy of the Japanese state. The paper examines the organizational structure of keiretsu groups, the role of the "main bank" system, mutual equity participations, and the relations between large industrial corporations and financial institutions. At the same time, in the research we reflected on the influence of the keiretsu model on Japan's accelerated economic development, the strengthening of industrial competitiveness and the expansion of Japanese corporations on the international market. This analysis shows that the keiretsu system was an integrated mechanism of financial, industrial and commercial cooperation aimed at supporting the Japanese national economy.
