Summary/Abstract: The article traces the itinerary of philosophical inquiry as an expression of the human condition, from modern foundations to contemporary re-evaluations. Descartes institutes methodological doubt as the path to certainty; Kant sets the limits and possibilities of reason through the analysis of the conditions of possibility of knowledge; Wittgenstein shifts the focus of reflection onto language and its “games”; Heidegger radicalizes the question by relating it to being and existence; Popper formulates falsifiability as the criterion of science; and Habermas restores to inquiry its constitutive role in dialogue and communicative rationality. It is thus emphasized that inquiry is not merely a methodological tool but the very substance of thought, the expression through which philosophy remains alive in its search for truth and meaning.
