Summary/Abstract: The determination of the age threshold of juvenile criminal responsibility is one of the most important issues in juvenile criminal law, as the entire system of juvenile criminal sanctions depends on the legislative solutions adopted in this field. Following the tragic events at the “Vladislav Ribnikar” Primary School in Belgrade, parts of the general, professional, and academic public have put forward the idea of lowering the minimum age of criminal responsibility. In this paper, the authors analyse this highly significant issue. The aim of the paper is to propose, through the application of the comparative method, certain solutions which, de lege ferenda, could contribute to the suppression of juvenile delinquency.
