Summary/Abstract: The development is dedicated to the development of the creative process in third grade students through work on fairy tales as a genre variation. The interest in this type of fairy tales is dictated by the opportunities they provide for creative inspiration and even reincarnation in the images of favorite characters. The texts prepared for experimental application aim to test their creative potential for recreating an author's text and modifying texts, requiring in some cases a continuation of the event described in the original. Here the creative approach stands out the most, because independently or in a team, students can experiment with the text in all possible ways. The idea of this study, which is to be implemented with third graders, is to prepare a booklet with creative or modified versions of the texts provided to them, which they will present to the public on Reading Day, which has long been a tradition for schools in Bulgaria, celebrated annually on November 21. The function of this literary format is to increase the functional literacy so necessary for successful personal development in students, which essentially includes reading comprehension, skills for applying read information on a practical level, and the development of creative abilities and imagination.
