Summary/Abstract: The article is dedicated to discussing some key issues concerning the history of Chinese workers in the USSR during the time of N.S.Khrushchev. China and the USSR were part of the socialist camp, a treaty of alliance was signed between the countries, and mutual assistance was implied as a matter of course; however, in reality, the situation was more complex. Inter-party relations did not correspond to interstate relations, and ideological unity replaced the practical needs of state interests. The first to address the issue of Chinese workers during the time of N.S.Khrushchev was the Soviet scholar M.I.Sladkovsky, who noted that it was Mao Zedong who took the initiative to send Chinese workers to the Soviet Far East and Siberia in the amount of 10 million people. Chinese researchers have also published a number of scholarly articles and collections of documents. Overall, it can be said that they hold a different point of view, distinct from their Russian colleagues. The author of this article intends to conduct a comparative analysis of the perspectives of Chinese and Russian scholars, using declassified archival materials from China and Russia, including the memoirs of N.S.Khrushchev. In the matter of sending workers to the USSR, the Chinese government acted in full accordance with the demands and pace set by the Soviet side. It had no active plans for population migration to the USSR. Chinese workers went to the USSR precisely at the request and invitation of the Soviet side to assist in communist construction. In particular, the fact that the Chinese side initiated the cessation of sending workers upon ascertaining the Soviet position once again proves that the Chinese government had no plans for labor migration or sending workers as migrants to the USSR.
