Summary/Abstract: The investigation of environmental crimes requires meticulous planning tailored to the complexity of each case. These offenses involve numerous factors—such as the source of pollution, type of damage, physical traces, and time elapsed since the incident—that influence the course of the inquiry. Criminal investigation planning entails establishing working hypotheses, selecting procedural and scientific actions, and collaborating with experts from various fields. A swift response is essential to preserve evidence and identify those involved. Environmental assessments, analysis of internal company documents, and witness interviews complete the evidentiary picture. A lack of clear organization can lead to the loss of evidence and compromise the investigation. Therefore, planning becomes an indispensable tool for guiding, streamlining, and concluding the criminal investigation.
