Summary/Abstract: The study (N = 294) predicts the beneficial role of metacognitive-self (MCS) for attitudes towards pension among young adults. Participants filled in two questionnaires in random order: metacognitive-self questionnaire, and attitudes towards pension questionnaire (indicating fear about the elderly in the future). According to theoretical assumptions, the higher MCS the more positive attitudes towards future pensions and less fear about the future. The explanation lies in adaptive role of self-awareness of own biases (MCS) for positive emotion regulation.
