Summary/Abstract: Jesper Hoffmeyer, as many of his close associates know, is a great fan of all things language related – puns, jokes, double entendres, translations, and the etymology and regional variants of words. Characteristically, Jesper once told us that he “follows his nose” when thinking through complex ideas, in order to find his way to the heart of where he intuits some conceptual problem lies.
