Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study was to determine the extent to which individual and organisational factors influence the retention of Border Guard officers. The impact of job satisfaction, organisational commitment, and perseverance on the intention to remain in service and the intention to leave service was analysed. The study was conducted among 184 Border Guard officers using a questionnaire survey. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was used, which enabled the simultaneous analysis of multiple relationships. The developed model is characterised by a good fit and high explanatory power – the variables included in the model explain over 50% of the variance in the intention to leave the service. It was found that job satisfaction, organisational commitment, and perseverance significantly increase the intention to remain in the force, which should be taken into account in solutions to counteract the departure of officers.
