Summary/Abstract: The UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage has come into effect on 2006. Since then, its complexity and its lack of constraint have generated a large number of problems and debates into the academic world. In the attempt to counter the criticism and answer some of the interrogations, this paper is dedicated to analysis of the ways how researchers and teachers could understand and transmit intangible cultural heritage. As the author has edited an academic collective handbook on ICH, she delivers her experience by showing the importance of taking into account a multidisciplinary approach, including sociology, anthropology, ethnology, law, ethic, linguistics, museology, history, tourism economy and media studies and technologies.
