Summary/Abstract: International law and EU law do not regulate the issue of restricting the exercise of the mandate of a Deputy of a national parliament or the possibility of depriving them of their salary. This issue is regulated by national law. Given the fundamental requirement for granting asylum (persecution), the restriction of the exercise of the mandate of a member of a national parliament and the possibility of depriving them of their salary may be regarded by the asylum-granting state as an additional (albeit insufficient in itself) circumstance indicating the legitimacy of granting asylum.
