Summary/Abstract: The paper examines how Gilles Deleuze’s philosophy reinterprets and transforms the thought of Baruch Spinoza. The study highlights both continuities and ruptures between the two philosophers, showing how Spinoza’s concepts of immanence, affects, and conatus are appropriated and transfigured through Deleuze’s notions of multiplicity and becoming. By analyzing the interplay between continuity and innovation, the paper emphasizes the role of affects and becoming as essential tools for an ethics of affirmation and a process-oriented ontology. Moreover, the study demonstrates how Spinoza’s legacy informs Deleuze’s political thought, particularly through the concept of the “politics of desire,” which integrates individual freedom and creativity within social structures. This research combines textual analysis of Spinoza’s and Deleuze’s works with a critical and contextual approach, highlighting the enduring relevance of Spinoza’s philosophy for contemporary thought. Ultimately, the paper underscores that philosophical influence is not mere imitation, but involves a creative process of reinterpretation and reactivation of classical ideas to address contemporary challenges and contexts.
