Summary/Abstract: The current research is a sustained effort to reject the subjectivist approach of the art along multiple lines of argumentation. What we currently call „artistic creation” includes an important „discovery” content. What great works of art appear to have obtained through freedom still preserves an element of necessity. Arbitrary imagination is overshadowed by an objective inspiration and artistic fiction is dedicated to a contemplative acces to truth – just as talent is overcome by genius. All these notions dictate a severe criticism of contemporary art and its corresponding aesthetics. This, however, is only achieved following a rational-affirmative reconstruction of the main notions of classical aesthetics (from Plato, Baumgarten to Kant, Hegel, Schelling and Schopenhauer).
