Summary/Abstract: This article examines the historical tension between orality and writing through Marcel Jousse’s theory of expressive styles. It offers a philological and anthropological reading that places the mimismological gesture at the core of cultural transmission, articulating the transition from gestural concretism to written formalism. The study integrates classical sources on the anthropology of gesture, oralist philology, and contemporary debates on digital culture, proposing the hypothesis of a fifth expressive style – the audiovisual – which reshapes the dialectic between voice, gesture, and writing. The methodology combines textual analysis, historical review, and comparative theoretical reflection. The article argues that Joussian anthropology provides essential conceptual tools for understanding expressive transformations in the digital age
