Summary/Abstract: This article takes an in-depth look at the production conditions that shaped the writing of La Dernière Nuit du Raïs by Yasmina Khadra, a major Algerian author in contemporary Francophone literature. The study highlights the historical and political context in which this 2015 novel was conceived, a work that seeks to reconstruct the final hours of Muammar Gaddafi, the emblematic and controversial leader of Libya for more than forty years. Through this narrative, Khadra offers an immersion into the Raïs’s consciousness at the moment when his regime is collapsing under the pressure of popular revolt and international intervention.
