Summary/Abstract: In this article, we propose to analyze the morphosyntactic constructions of verbs conjugated in the imperfect indicative. The objective of our contribution is to elucidate the meaningful side of verbs and to arrive at a new verbal categorization that would facilitate the learning of the composition of the imperfect indicative for learners. Our contribution essentially takes into account the classical categorization instituted by traditional grammar, which has theoretical and methodological shortcomings. That said, the work on oral production will allow us to highlight the significant gap between the morphosyntactic structures of oral and written language. Our analytical approach will allow us to list some morphosyntactic forms of oral verbs in order to facilitate their teaching to learners.
