Summary/Abstract: Представления о функциональности семьи (поколенческий аспект)The article presents the results of an empirical study on generational differences in perceptions of family functionality. The study’s theoretical framework draws on D. Olson’s Circumplex Model of Family Systems and the generational theory of N. Howe and W. Strauss. The sample included 200 respondents from four generations: Baby Boomers, Generation X, Generation Y, and Generation Z. The methodological instrument used was FACES-3 (D. Olson, J. Portner, I. Lavee). The results revealed that functional family types are present across all generations. The highest proportions of functional families were found among Generation X (36%) and Generation Y (32%). Semi-functional family types dominate across all generations, with the highest values in Generation Z (80%) and in Baby Boomers and Generation Y (68% each). This pattern indicates a deficit in structural regulation while preserving emotional distance. Dysfunctional family types were identified across all generations, but their share remains minimal (ranging from 2% to 4%). The dominance of semi-functional family types across all generations indicates the prevalence of stable but not fully balanced models of family functioning.
