Summary/Abstract: This contribution analyses the repair of human rights violations within the European Convention system, with a focus on armed conflict situations. It shows that the European Court of Human Rights combines financial compensation and symbolic measures to acknowledge harm and restore the dignity of victims. European case law provides an essential framework, but it also reveals the structural limits of the system when faced with large-scale violations and deliberate obstructions by the States concerned.
