Summary/Abstract: This article examines how the Soviet wartime and early postwar press portrayed Silesia between 1944 and 1947, focusing on frontline newspapers of the 1st and 4th Ukrainian Fronts and central organs such as “Krasnaya Zvezda” and “Pravda”. It reconstructs the legal-institutional framework (GlavPUR directives, party resolutions), material conditions of publishing (paper rationing, periodicity, print runs), and dominant rhetorical patterns (operational communiqués, liberation narrative, economic framing). The study traces a shift from triumphalist reporting to a post-May 1945 discourse of reconstruction and political legitimation of Poland’s western border, mapping titles, genres, and formulas that produced a uniform, state-controlled image of the Silesian campaign.
