Summary/Abstract: The analysis presented starts with the content of the Nicene Creed, focusing especially on the distinctive character of the repeated apparent synonymy found within it. Particular attention is given to the meanings of the formula «ἢ κτιστὸν ἢ τρεπτὸν ἢ ἀλλοιωτόν» as expressed in the final anathema. Considering the universal character of the Truth – understood by the Holy Fathers as immutable, remaining One and the Same in both more concise or more developed formulations –, this reflection in the ecumenical synodal tradition of the theology concerning the identity and immutability of Christ’s natures is investigated, offering a more comprehensive image of the semantic context of the Creed formulated in the year 325. This situation provides the opportunity to reflect on the theological interest of the first Ecumenical Council, the implications of which are highlighted in 12 points in the final section of the material.
