Summary/Abstract: This study examines the post-war territorial dispute between Czechoslovakia and Poland over the Ratibor (Racibórz) and Leobschütz (Głubczyce) regions during the period 1945–1947 period. Unlike existing historiography, which has primarily focused on the diplomatic dimensions of the conflict, this paper analyzes the dispute through the lens of newly discovered and unpublished operational plans of the General Staff and intelligence reports. The author explores the evolution of Czechoslovak territorial claims and their military-strategic aspects, particularly within the framework of the planned operation known as “Action A”. A key contribution of the study is the reinterpretation of the so-called “Ratibor incident” of June 1945. Based on an analysis of archival documents, the paper argues that the incident was not a centrally planned state action but rather an unauthorized initiative by the commander of the 1st Czechoslovak Independent Armoured Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Vladimír Janko, triggered by a combination of unofficial intelligence reports and personal ambition. The study elucidates the decisive role of the Soviet Union, which intervened to prevent escalation between his two emerging satellite state
