Summary/Abstract: This paper investigates what determines workers’ performances under the Saudi airport privatization by placing the focus on economic growth, leadership style, managerial practices, organizational culture, work atmosphere and their interactions. Quantitative research method was employed and airport workers were majorly sample using a structured questionnaire. The research examines direct and indirect relationships between these factors and employee performance, especially on the mediating roles of organizational culture and the moderating impact of the work environment. Economic growth showed a positive association with employee performance, highlighting a close link between macroeconomic conditions and the efficiency of human resources. Organizational culture (work environment) was also positively related to management practices and employee performance, although it did not emerge as a significant mediator between the key variables and performance. Leadership style demonstrated only a weak influence on employee performance, while the work environment had a moderate effect. Overall, the results indicate that leadership and work conditions exert a more direct influence on employee performance than through the mediating or moderating role of organizational culture. This study would enrich the literature on the privatizing-employees by developing the previous models and revealing to what extent the process of privatization impacts on employees in the airline industry. It also suggests how policymakers and other managers might promote employee engagement and productivity in times of change. However, future research should further investigate potential longitudinal and cross-cultural effects through the consideration of additional mediators, such as employee well-being and the adoption of technology.
