Summary/Abstract: Sheikh Abdullah Ansari is one of the most important authorities and spiritual teachers from the period of early Sufism. Of his numerous works, the collection of his addresses and intimate conversations with God known as the Monajat Namah has gained particular fame. This collection consists of short addresses to God that were created as poetry in prose, and in them the author expresses the deepest views of the Sufi spiritual path in relation to God. Historically, Ensari’s Monajat had a strong influence on later Sufi authors both in the Persian-speaking area and beyond.
