Summary/Abstract: This paper evaluates the intellectual and methodological scope of the 4th International Congress on Ottoman Studies (OSARK 2025), held at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice on 17–19 October 2025 and organized around the theme of the Ottoman Mediterranean. It reads the main discussions of the congress beyond single disciplinary frameworks and approaches the Mediterranean as a field of historical inquiry shaped by the intersection of state formation, maritime power, mobility regimes, legal pluralism, health policies, economic networks, and practices of cultural translation. Focusing on the shared ground of papers ranging from institutional governance to subaltern politics, and from aesthetic interaction to gender, the paper maps the comprehensive and critical perspective that OSARK 2025 brought to Ottoman Mediterranean studies.
